April 4, 2017 Consolidated Election


Lake County voters will elect:
  • Municipal mayor, president, clerk, councilman, commissioner, alderman, and/or trustee
  • Township supervisor, clerk, assessor, highway commissioner, and/or trustee
  • Park district commissioner
  • Library district trustee
  • Members of the Board of Education for unit school, elementary school, high school, and community college
  • Regional Board of Schools trustee 
  • Fire protection and water district officials
Citizens may choose to vote by mail, early, or on Election Day. Before a ballot can be issued, every voter must sign a ballot application for each election. Voter's identity is verified by a signature match to voter's original registration record.
Voter Registration
  • Register online through the State of Illinois.
    Available Mar. 2-19. Illinois driver's license or state identification is required.
  • Register in person
    Available Mar. 2-7 with a deputy registrar or at the Illinois Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Register by mail
    Must be postmarked by Mar. 7.
  • Grace Registration
    Mar. 20 - Apr. 4
    Available at any early voting site,  assigned Election Day voting site, or the Clerk’s office. Use the Polling Place Locator to find your assigned Election Day voting site.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, residents of their precinct for 30 days before Election Day, 18 years old on or before the general election, provide two forms of valid identification, and vote at the time of registration. Both pieces of identification must show voter’s name and one must show current Lake County address.
