1/3/17 - Fairfield Road and Monaville Road Public Information Meeting, Jan. 31
The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is studying an intersection improvement at Fairfield Road and Monaville Road. A second public information meeting was held Tuesday, Jan. 31 at the Lake Villa Township office. The meeting presented the two alternative improvements under consideration, took public comments, and shared project progress.
12/1/16 - The Lake County Division of Transportation held the second Stakeholder Involvement Group (SIG) meeting on Nov. 15, 2016. The SIG includes residents from the immediate area as well as public officials with an interest in the project. The project study team presented various intersection alternatives including a traditional traffic signal, a roundabout, and a “do nothing” alternative. The SIG members discussed the alternatives and the criteria for evaluating the different intersection improvements. The presentation, meeting minutes and the draft alternatives can be found below. The next step is to schedule a second public information meeting to present these alternatives to the public, which will be in the early part of 2017.
10/26/16 - The Lake County Division of Transportation held the first public meeting for the Fairfield Road and Monaville Road Phase I Study on June 7, 2016. From the first public meeting, a Stakeholder Involvement Group (SIG) was formed, and met for the first time on October 12, 2016. The SIG includes residents from the immediate area as well as public officials with an interest in the project. At this first meeting, the SIG discussed existing issues and brainstormed possible solutions to improve the intersection. The Project Study Team will now develop alternative intersection improvements which will be vetted through the SIG and then presented at the next public information meeting, time and date TBD.
6/7/16 - Phase 1 plans are being developed. The first public information meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Lake Villa Township office. The meeting will be an informal open house from 5-7 p.m. and will offer opportunities for the public to discuss the project and ask questions.
