Skokie Valley Bike Path Bridge & Trail Extension

Description: Construction of a new bridge to carry the Skokie Valley Bike Path over Lake Cook Road, and a trail extension into Cook County.

Background: A joint project between the Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT), the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (CCDOT), and the Village of Northbrook. This bridge over Lake Cook Road and trail extension is just part of a multi-jurisdictional effort to extend the Skokie Valley Bike Path into Cook County, ultimately to Dempster Street, from its current terminus at Lake Cook Road. CCDOT is the lead agency for Phase 2. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2023, depending on project readiness.
