US Rte 45 Millburn Bypass

Description: Improvement to U.S. Route 45 from IL 132 to IL 173 including a west bypass of the Millburn Historic District. The project is being led by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Berger Excavating is the General Contractor.

Current Information

Construction of the Millburn Bypass project, at US Route 45 and Millburn/Grass Lake Roads, is underway. Contractor is busy removing trees and performing demo of purchased buildings on the new alignment. Next work will be installing erosion control measures and stripping the topsoil so the earth moving can follow. Utility companies will continue relocating their facilities that are in conflict with the roadwork.
