Old McHenry Rd Improvement - Downtown Long Grove

Limits: North of IL 53 to south of Cuba Rd in Long Grove

Description: The project will include an intersection improvement at Robert Parker Coffin Road from a four-way stop to a controlled traffic signal, pavement reconstruction and resurfacing, drainage improvements, pedestrian accommodations (sidewalk and bike path), street lighting, and other associated improvements. LCDOT is working closely with the Village of Long Grove to coordinate construction to minimize impacts on community festivals. A one-way detour for northbound traffic will be necessary south of Robert Parker Coffin Rd.

Current Information

5/7/2019 - Crews have started pavement intersection work at Robert Parker Coffin/Old McHenry Rd and should complete this Saturday (5/11). Pavement intersection work at Archer/Old McHenry Rd was completed yesterday.

Today, the contractor will begin pavement surface grinding on the resurfacing portion of the project starting from the fire station to RT 53. Once pavement grinding in this section is completed, crews will start pavement grinding from the Village Hall entrance to Cuba Rd.

Topsoil placement/grading along sidewalk areas will continue this week and sod installation is scheduled to begin tomorrow.

Traffic Impacts: Watch for workers and flaggers as daily lane closures will be utilized. Watch for trucks coming in and out of the jobsite.
