Upon appointment, each applicant must:
Contact the Lake County Clerk's Voter Services Department:
Who can become a deputy registrar?
- Municipal Clerk or their duly authorized deputies
- Township Clerk or their duly authorized deputies
- Precinct Committee persons
- Employees of the Secretary of State
- Chief librarian or designated person from any public library
- Principal, or a qualified person designated by the principal, of any high school, elementary school, or vocational school
- President, or qualified person designated by the president, of any university, college, community college, academy or other institution of learning situated within the election jurisdiction
- Elected or appointed official of a labor union or qualified members designated by the official
- Elected or appointed official of a bona fide state civic organization or qualified members designated by the official
- Director of the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services or employees designated by the director
- Director of the Illinois Department of Employment Security or employees designated by the Director
- President of any corporation defined by the Business Corporation Act of 1983, or employees designated by the president
Appointment and Training
Upon appointment, each applicant must:
- Attend a 45-minute training class conducted by Lake County Clerk staff,
- Take the official oath, and
- Receive training and registration supplies.
