The Sheriff's Office Judicial Sales Team enforces all court-ordered foreclosure sales issued by the 19th Judicial Circuit Court. The sales provide public access to one location and each sale is checked for accuracy and completed in a uniform, unbiased, and consistent process designed to reduce procedural errors that may result in contested judgments and court delays. Keeping third-party investors informed of foreclosure inventory is established by links on the Sheriff’s Office website. The Judicial Sales Team initiative is a collaboration with the 19th Judicial Circuit Court, the State’s Attorney’s Civil Division, the County Administrator’s Office, the Sheriff's Office, and local attorneys.
Foreclosure sales are held in the open seating area at the top of the escalators, on the second floor of the Lake County Courthouse at 301 W Washington St in Waukegan. (Building is attached by walkway with 18 N County St.)
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, transactions before and after sales, including payments, issuing deeds, etc. must be coordinated through prior arrangements with Judicial Sales Staff.
Due to continued COVID 19 restrictions by the State of IL on group sizes, and for the safety of citizens and staff, the Sheriff has the right to postpone and move foreclosure sales to later dates, pursuant to 735 ILCS 5/15-1507. Continue to check sale dates by using the Foreclosed Property Sales link to the left.
