Move In or Move Out
Are you moving into or out of one of our water and/or sewer service areas? Please contact our billing department at least two business days but no earlier than 30 days prior to the move.
We will need the service address, the name(s) you would like on the bill, the billing address (if different from the service address) and a contact phone number. We will obtain a meter reading on your closing date and a temporary account will be established for you. An Application for Service will be mailed to the service address. All applicants are then required to bring the completed Application for Service and their Driver's License or other state issued identification to the Lake County Public Works Administration Office within 30 days, or the account is subject to disconnection without further notice.
Your first bill will be generated with the next regular cycle billing, which may take up to three months.
Please provide your forwarding address and the name of the buyer, if available. A final meter reading will be taken and your account will be closed as of the property closing date. You should expect a final bill within two weeks of your move.
Tenants & Landlords
Service for rental properties will be billed to the tenant or the landlord, depending on the information provided for our records. We will need the name, phone number and move-in date of new tenants, and the date and forwarding address of tenants moving out. We will obtain a meter reading on the moving date(s) and a temporary service account will be established. An Application for Service will be mailed to the service address. All applicants are then required to bring the completed Application for Service and their Driver's License or other state issued identification to the Lake County Public Works Administration Office within 30 days, or the account is subject to disconnection without further notice.
As property owner, the landlord is responsible for updating this information and for the resolution of delinquent bills.
Realtors & Attorneys
Third party requests for property closing letters and final bills should be emailed to [email protected] or faxed to 847.984.5582 at least two business days prior to the scheduled closing. The request must include company name, your name and title, phone number, and email or fax number. Include the property address, closing date, seller's name, forwarding address, and buyer's name.
We will obtain a meter reading up to two business days before the closing and a final bill will be calculated for prorated water and/or sewer service through the closing date.
