Enforcement Officers

About the Enforcement Officers (EO) Program

Every Lake County municipality is required to have a designated EO per the Lake County Watershed Development Ordinance (WDO). The EO oversees the implementation of the WDO within that community.

See the Enforcement Officer Contact List (PDF) information regarding your community's stormwater and floodplain permits.

The WDO outlines the requirements or duties of the EO. To be qualified to act as an EO, the person must pass the Lake County Enforcement Officer's Exam, and be employed by the Certified Community (PDF) or on contract to act as the EO on behalf of the community. Duties include permit record keeping, permit review, and enforcement.
