How it Works

Authorized business submitters use an internet-based application provided by one of our eRecording vendors, CSC, eRecording Partners Network, or Simplifile, to prepare document packages. The submitter completes the required data entry and attaches the scanned document images to the package.

Once the package is submitted, the Lake County eRecording team members receive an alert that a package is ready to be reviewed and recorded. They confirm that the documents within the package meet the recording requirements and either approve or reject them. Rejected packages are immediately sent back to the submitter to resolve all issues and re-submit.

If the documents are approved, a digital file recordation stamp is applied to the document images and the final "official" images are then sent back to the submitter.

Assuming that the package is properly prepared and "approval-ready", this entire process can be completed within minutes.

Cost

Our standard recording fees apply to all documents submitted via eRecording. Please refer to our recording fees (PDF) for a complete listing.
