The Emergency Management program is charged with the responsibility of being the lead agency in disasters involving public health as well as nuclear, environmental, chemical, and biological acts of terrorism.
Plans have been developed to allow the Health Department to move very quickly to identify the emergency or disease, its possible source, and to minimize risk to Lake County citizens. These plans include mass medication distribution and mass vaccination capabilities. These responsibilities are possible by working in coordination with our public and private partners in the County. Public education on preparedness is an ongoing and important aspect of the program.
Lake County Medical Reserve Corps
The goal of the Lake County Medical Reserve Corps (LCMRC) is to increase the healthcare surge capacity of the county. It serves as support to the existing healthcare system in the event of a major emergency, pandemic, and local public health needs.
ALERT Lake County
ALERT Lake County is an emergency preparedness website developed to keep residents informed and prepared. Knowing what to do during an emergency is an important part of being prepared and may make all the difference when seconds count.
