Release of Incident Reports
The following Records Division Protocols are followed to determine when and to whom an Incident Report may be released to.
Released to:

Victim(s)
-
Authorized representatives of the victim(s)

Insurance carriers against which a claim has been made and/or might be made

Person(s) suffering bodily injury, property damage or loss as result of incident
Please note: In some instances, certain information may be redacted as provided by Freedom of Information Act Law.
Not released:
-
If the disclosure would endanger the safety of a witness and/or other involved party

If disclosure could endanger the successful completion of an investigation and/or related investigation
-
Name and address of a victim(s) of certain specified crimes will not be disclosed

If the Department is prohibited by law from releasing the report (e.g. child abuse reports)
Please note: Requests are evaluated on a case by case basis and other FOIA exemptions may prohibit the release of information.
