The Planning, Building and Development Department is responsible for the enforcement of Building Codes and County Ordinances.

Code Enforcement Hearings
For nuisance violations, such as tall grass and weeds, junk and debris, animals running at large, noise complaints and minor health violations, Lake County uses a Code Enforcement Hearing process for resolution and compliance.

Homeless Assistance
Lake County has grant funds available annually for non-profit organizations and governmental entities to assist homeless persons. These funds provide for emergency shelters, transitional housing, permanent housing, and supportive services.

Neighborhood Stabilization Program
As of the end of August 2015, the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) program has successfully produced over 90 units of housing for low-income Lake County households.
