The Lake County Board adopted the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) on April 11, 2000, which is now Chapter 151 of the Lake County Code of Ordinances. Chapter 151 is located within Title XV: Land Usage. These regulations apply only to lands in unincorporated Lake County. Municipalities regulate the lands located within their boundaries.

Regulations include:
  • Zoning
  • Subdivision
  • Signs
  • Site Development (Stormwater Detention, Erosion Control, Floodplain and Wetlands)
Use Lake County’s Maps Online application to determine the zoning of property in unincorporated Lake County. Individual township zoning maps are also available for printing and downloading.
