Our Employees
Lake County Public Works has a staff of 96 full-time employees working in five program divisions, each serving a different function:
- Systems Operation - To operate and maintain potable water and sanitary sewer facilities that comply with local, state and federal regulations
- System Maintenance - To ensure uninterrupted service by providing routine maintenance and emergency repair of water and sewer facilities
- Laboratory - To provide laboratory services to verify compliance with local, state and federal regulations by collecting and analyzing samples from potable water and sanitary sewer systems
- Engineering Services - To provide engineering services to the department by performing plan review, project design and construction administration and to assist the department's operations program with improvement projects
- Administration and Financial Management - To provide customer service and to maintain long-term financial stability by managing accounting processes, overseeing investments, processing utility bills and managing budgetary controls

Our Facilities
We maintain more than 100 water and sanitary sewer facilities throughout Lake County, with the Administration Building in Libertyville serving as our main communication center. We are located on Winchester Road between Butterfield Road and Milwaukee Avenue. Business hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is closed on weekends and major holidays.
