The Lake County Sheriff's Office and several local police departments have prescription drug disposal boxes to take back your expired or unused prescription drugs. Unused prescription drugs that remain in home medicine cabinets are highly susceptible to abuse, creating a public health crisis. Dispose of your unused and expired medicine in an environmentally friendly manner.
On September 22, 2016, Walgreens announced the installation of three medication disposal kiosks at the following Lake County locations:
- Buffalo Grove Walgreens at 15 N Buffalo Grove Road
- Deerfield Walgreens at 780 Waukegan Road
- Waukegan Walgreens at 1811 Belvidere Road
