  • Ela and Long Grove Road Intersection Study

    ​LCDOT hosted a public information meeting on Thursday, November 12 at the Village Church of Barrington to present the study schedule, planning process, and stakeholder involvement opportunities for a potential intersection improvement.

  • UPDATE: Kenosha Road Culvert Replacement WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 11

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) will be replacing the culvert under Kenosha Road, approximately 300 feet north of 21st Street, in Zion. Work will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 11 and is expected to take 2 days. This culvert replacement project will NOT require a road closure, however during work hours, the road will be down to one lane with flaggers on site assisting traffic thru the work area. While no detour will be needed for this roadwork, we do request that motorists reduce your speed, limit distractions, and watch for workers and equipment while traveling on this road.

  • Illinois Route 137 Bike Path Study Public Meeting

    ​The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) hosted a Public Information Meeting on Wednesday November 4 at Independence Grove. The meeting presented information about the study of a bike path along the IL Rte. 137 corridor connecting Libertyville, Green Oaks, Waukegan, and North Chicago.

  • Public Hearing for Gilmer Road at Midlothian Road, Nov. 4

    ​The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) hosted a Public Hearing to review proposed improvements to the intersection of Gilmer Road and Midlothian Road in the Village of Hawthorn Woods and unincorporated Lake County. The preferred alternative includes a signalized intersection, a 5-lane roadway section, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities.

  • ​LCDOT Opens 5th Roundabout in Lake County​

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) has opened the new roundabout at River Road and Roberts Road in Lake Barrington. This is the 5th roundabout in Lake County. In many locations, roundabouts provide safer and more efficient traffic flow than standard intersections and they are a key component of the Lake County highway system. Learn more​!

  • Public Meeting, Wadsworth Road at Lewis Avenue

    ​The Lake County Division of Transportation hosted a Public Information Meeting October 7 at the Village of Beach Park. Public comments can be submitted through October 28. See the Documents tab at the project webpage for comment form and submittal details.

    ​All Lake County codes and ordinances have been restated in one unified document. The Lake County, Illinois Code of Ordinances (Lake County Code) is now available in a searchable format online.

  • Peterson Road and Alleghany Road Public Information Materials

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) hosted a Public Information Meeting for the reconstruction of Peterson Road and the resurfacing of Alleghany Road in the Village of Grayslake and Fremont Township. The meeting was held on May 14 at the Lake County Fairgrounds.

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) hosted a Construction Open House for the Washington Street Underpass Project on March 2 at the Grayslake Village Hall.

  • 2015 Road Construction Program Announced

    ​2015 will again be another extremely busy construction season for Lake County. This year, Lake County has $135M in road projects under construction--$65M in projects carried over from last year, and $75M in new projects.

  • ​Lake County 2040 Transportation Plan

    The Lake County Year 2040 Transportation Plan will serve as the blueprint for transportation improvements, including bicycle and transit components, for Lake County for the next two decades. An open house was held on Wednesday December 18 at the Lake County Division of Transportation to offer interested people the opportunity to view exhibits illustrating the proposed plan, ask questions and share feedback with LCDOT staff and consultants.
