If you need to update your record or register for the first time, voter registration is open now and is conveniently available online, in-person at many locations around the county, or by mail.
Each applicant must be a United States citizen, 18 years of age by Election Day, and meet a 30-day Lake County residency requirement. Two forms of valid identification must be presented at the time of registration.

Lake County registered voters, including students away at school, traveling snowbirds, and those who be out of town on Election Day may vote by mail. This option allows any registered voter to receive and mark a ballot from the comfort of his or her own home or have a ballot sent to a temporary alternate address. Enroll in a program to automatically receive an application for each election. Applications available beginning Wednesday, August 8, 2018. Ballots will be mailed beginning September 27, pending state certification of candidates.
