Claims assistance is one of the primary functions of the VAC. We will assist you with your Department of Veteran Affairs claims. These claims for non-service connected or service-connected disabilities will be processed in a professional and timely manner. We are here to answer your questions, prepare the needed documents, help you secure any necessary supporting documents, and provide follow-up services on your pending claim.
If you are a combat-disabled retiree or are a veteran that has been exposed to Agent Orange, then contact the VAC, as you may be able to be compensated for your condition.
We are looking for feedback on our claims services so we can

Veterans Assistance Commission of Lake County does not guarantee your claim to go through. We are here to assist you in filing your paperwork for the claims process. Once we submit the paperwork, it goes to the Regional Office, where it will be assigned a Rater who will eventually make the decision on your claim. We keep track of claims by keeping copies of any documents submitted in case paperwork happens to get lost at the Regional Office. We are here to assist you in any way we can.
Please keep in mind, the whole claims process takes approximately 12-24 months to complete. If you are awarded compensation, you will get pay backdated from the month after your claim was filed up until the decision was made.
