    Washington Street Central Project Construction Open House July 15

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) will host a Construction Open House for the Washington Street Central project within the Villages of Hainesville, Round Lake Park and Grayslake. The project begins at Grandview Drive and extends east to Haryan Way.

    The purpose of the meeting is to present the construction plans and schedule to the public, and will be conducted in an informal, open-house format. Exhibits will be on display and representatives from LCDOT and the project team will be there to provide information and answer questions. More info.

    River Road to Close July 13 for Roundabout Construction

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) will be closing River Road to through traffic from Kelsey Road to Roberts Road beginning Monday, July 13 at 6 a.m. The closure will last approximately five months while the roundabout is under construction.

    Detour Route: Roberts Road, to U.S. Route 59 to Kelsey Road | view detour map

    Hawley Street Project Open House Thursday July 9

    ​This summer, the Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) will begin reconstructing Hawley Street between Midlothian Road and Seymour Avenue in the village of Mundelein. When complete, Hawley will have a center turn lane, new multi-use path, and improved water main, sanitary and storm sewers. The project is expected to be complete by the end of 2016.

    To give the public an opportunity to learn more about the project, LCDOT will be hosting an construction information open house:

    Stop by during the open house to ask LCDOT representatives and members of the project team about the upcoming work.     Petite Lake Road to Close for Reconstruction

    The Lake County Division of Transportation will close Petite Lake Road to through traffic from Fairfield Road to Illinois Route 59, beginning at 6am Monday, June 15. The closure will allow reconstruction and widening of Petite Lake Road and is scheduled to reopen by mid-August.

  • Aptakisic Road Public Hearing Held May 20

    ​The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) conducted a public hearing to provide an overview of the Aptakisic Road Preliminary Engineering and Environmental (Phase I) Study and to present the preliminary preferred alternative. The hearing was held Wednesday, May 20 at the Buffalo Grove Village Hall.

  • Peterson Road and Alleghany Road Public Information Materials

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) hosted a Public Information Meeting for the reconstruction of Peterson Road and the resurfacing of Alleghany Road in the Village of Grayslake and Fremont Township. The meeting was held on May 14 at the Lake County Fairgrounds.

  • 14th Street Open House

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) hosted an open house on April 28 at the Greenbelt Cultural Center to share project information about improvements to 14th Street from IL131 (Green Bay Road) to Jackson Street in the cities of North Chicago and Waukegan. 

  • Fremont Center Road Project

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) hosted an open house March 18 to provide information about potential improvements to the intersection of Fremont Center Road and the surrounding area. Public comments regarding transportation issues and concerns in this area are being accepted through April 1 using this comment form at the study webpage.

  • Washington Street Underpass Project: Haryan Way to Lake Street

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) hosted a Construction Open House for the Washington Street Underpass Project on March 2 at the Grayslake Village Hall.

  • Darrell Road open house held February 10

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) hosted an open house/public meeting at the Island Lake Village Hall to begin the process of studying potential improvements to Darrell Road between Case Road and Fisher Road in the Village of Island Lake and Wauconda Township. At the meeting, the project was introduced and public input was gathered. Public comments can be submitted through February 24 by completing a form available on the study web page.

  • Buffalo Grove Road Phase I study

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is performing a Preliminary Engineering and Environmental Study (Phase I Study) for Buffalo Grove Road from Deerfield Parkway to IL Route 22. The study will evaluate long term improvements for Buffalo Grove Road in compliance with criteria for environmental studies. Also considered in this study is the completion of the existing bike path along the east side of Buffalo Grove Road. A public meeting was held on December 9, 2014 to review study materials and submit comments regarding the study. Comments can be submitted using the comment form posted on the website, or through the Contact Us form on the website. Comments submitted by December 23 will be entered into the public record.

  • Proposed improvements to Old McHenry Road discussed at public hearing November 18

    A public hearing to discuss proposed improvements to Old McHenry Road was held November 18, 2014 at Kildeer Countryside Elementary School. The proposed project will consist of improvements along Old McHenry Road within downtown Long Grove.
