The 2010 Construction season will be a busy one! There are many County projects as well as those managed by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois Tollway or local municipalities all occurring in a limited window of time due to our climate.  Our improvements range from preservation projects like resurfacing, patching or crack sealing to modernization projects like intersection safety work or new traffic signals to expansion projects like adding lanes or realignments.  We will have several projects from each category this season as we maintain or enhance the roads, bridges and bikepaths under our jurisdiction.

As the weather warms and asphalt plants open in April, you can prepare to navigate all this work by checking with our road work map for general project information or Passage for the current driving conditions.  Please be cautious and obey the posted speed limit as you travel through construction zones.  We want all of the workers and motorists to safely return home every day!
