Projects slated to begin in 2009 include: 

• Reconstruction of North Ave from IL Rte 83 to Deep Lake Road
• Reconstruction/Extension of Midlothian Rd from Wisconsin Central RR to IL Rte 137
• Bridge deck repairs on Pulaski Dr (14th St) at US Rte 41 / Union Pacific RR
• Southbound Buffalo Grove Rd will be widened to four lanes from Deerfield Pkwy to IL Rte 83
• The following highways will be resurfaced:
• Riverwoods Rd from IL Rte 22 to Saunders Rd
• Arlington Heights Rd from Alden Ln to Lake-Cook Rd
• A roundabout intersection will be constructed at Riverwoods Rd and Everett Rd
• 25 Highland Park traffic signals will be modernized and interconnected in a joint project with the city
• Traffic signals along Grand Ave and Lewis Ave in Waukegan will be modernized and interconnected
• A turn lane will be added on Winchester Rd at IL Rte 21
• The intersection of Western Ave at Woodland Dr in Lake Forest will be improved in a joint project with the city
• A bridge will be constructed extending the West Park Ave Bike Path in Highland Park across the Skokie River
• The Prairie Crossing Bike Path will be extended from the Wisconsin Central RR to Casey Rd
• The Peterson Rd at IL Rte 60 intersection will be realigned and modernized
