County Highway
The Lake County Division of Transportation is responsible for planning, designing, constructing and maintaining Lake County highways. These highways are identified by the 5-sided blue and gold route markers. The highway system consists of almost 300 centerline miles of arterial and collector roads and 48 miles of bike paths. A county highway is a road that meets the criteria established by state law, has been designated by the County Board and has been approved by the State.
The Division of Transportation is also responsible for more than 130 signalized intersections, 33 bridges and almost 90,000 feet of guardrail. Like state highways, Lake County highways extend through municipalities.
