BID NOTICE - Wetland Restoration Fund - North Branch of Chicago River Watershed, Lake County, Illinois
SMC desires to purchase wetland credits (acres) from a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) permitted mitigation bank in the North Branch of the Chicago River Watershed in Lake County, Illinois, using funds collected in the SMC Wetland Restoration Fund (WRF) for the purpose of isolated wetlands mitigation. A total of $273,959 is available for this credit purchase.
SMC is seeking sealed bids from qualified wetland mitigation bank administrators for the purchase of the above-referenced wetland credits. The deadline for submission of sealed bids is Friday, September 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. (CST) at the SMC office at 500 W. Winchester Road, Suite 201, Libertyville, Illinois, 60048. At that time, bids will be publicly opened and read. Sealed envelopes containing bids shall be clearly marked "Wetland Mitigation Credits - North Branch Chicago River Watershed".
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS - 2016 Watershed Management Board Cost-Share Projects
SMC is now accepting Request for Proposals for the 2016 Watershed Management Board (WMB) cost-share grant program. Project proposals are reviewed based on prioritized criteria including interjurisdictional, flood hazard reduction and structural damage reduction benefits.
Request for Proposals Packet includes specific information on the application process and schedule, WMB policies and procedures, project criteria, and SMC staff contact information for assistance with project applications.

BID NOTICE - Asbestos Abatement Project - CLOSED
Bids are being accepted for asbestos abatement at (4) former residences in Lindenhurst, Illinois. Removal specifications may be obtained at the office of the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission (SMC), 500 W. Winchester, Suite 201, Libertyville, Illinois 60048.
The SMC will receive bids for the project until 9:00 a.m. (CST) on Friday, July 24, 2015, at the issuing office, Lake County Stormwater Management Commission, 500 W. Winchester Rd., Suite 201, Libertyville, Illinois 60048, at which time, or as soon thereafter as possible, and at which place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. BID NOTICE - Bull Creek Restoration Project - CLOSED
The Lake County Stormwater Management Commission is now seeking sealed bids for the project designated as the Bull Creek Restoration Project. The project is located along Bull Creek, between Sheridan Rd. and the Union Pacific Railroad in the Village of Beach Park, Illinois.
The project consists of the restoration and enhancement of Bull Creek within the project reach and includes: the enhancement and installation of rock riffles to provide grade control and additional aquatic habitat; the installation of rock toe to stabilize eroding streambanks; the restoration of moderately eroded streambanks by re-grading and re-vegetating with native plant seed, native plant plugs, and erosion control blanket; the installation of rock checks to stabilize swales and gullies tributary to the stream channel; and the installation of native plant plugs to stabilize a steep slope area. It also includes clearing and tree removal; the installation of temporary construction access routes and stream crossings; the installation of temporary soil erosion and sediment control practices; the implementation of an in-stream work plan; and, the management of vegetation throughout the project reach. Upon completion, the project will address the deteriorating conditions along Bull Creek and will provide a long-term solution to the stream downcutting and widening and streambank erosion that is occurring within the project reach.
