May 8, 2013: Water Quality Monitoring

February 13, 2013 Meeting: 2013 Direction and Municipal Planning to Improve Water Quality

The committee looked into the future and discussed issues that affect the watershed, what issues to focus on this year, brainstorm how to go further to improve water quality, and evaluate how we are doing in light of the watershed plan. Three North Branch municipalities presented on how they are using planning documents to improve water quality and reduce flooding. Speakers included Highland Park’s new Sustainability Coordinator, Bryan Tillman who spoke about the City’s Sustainable Community Strategic Plan. Robyn Flakne of Glenview gave an update on the Village’s Plan for Nature. Northbrook’s Paul Kendzior spoke about the Village's fourth update to their Stormwater Management Plan.
