Inmate Reentry

Reentry specialists assess inmate needs upon arrival to the jail. They are tasked with planning for a successful release from custody and a productive integration into the community. Reentry specialists work closely with social service organizations committed to providing a continuum of care for inmates facing addiction, mental health or physical challenges; as well as scheduling behavioral and educational programming focused on preparing inmates for a constructive, self-sustaining future.

Reentry specialists also encourage inmates to participate in educational, behavioral and spiritual programming and, if available, inmate worker programs.

Over 10,000 inmates are processed through the Lake County Adult Corrections Facility each year. The average stay for an inmate is two to three months.
