Winchester House

Winchester House has been providing long term health care for the residents of Lake County for over 150 years. Winchester House has become synonymous with excellent care and a model for skilled nursing homes.  Many of the programs meet the residents physical, mental, social, religious and recreational needs.

Winchester House has a long history of volunteerism. Volunteers have supported staff in providing excellent care. A variety of volunteer opportunities allow individuals, corporations, schools, churches and civic groups to become directly involved with residents.

Adopt A Highway

Adopt A Highway is a volunteer program offered by the Lake County Division of Transportation (DOT). Environmentally-conscious citizen's groups can make a personal contribution to a cleaner environment by volunteering to pick up litter along Lake County's highway system.

Lake County Health Department Medical Reserve Corps

The goal of the Lake County Medical Reserve Corps is to increase the health care surge capacity of the county to support the existing health care system in the event of a major emergency, Flu Pandemic and / or to support local public health needs.

Medical Reserve Corps volunteers can and will serve a vital role by assisting with ongoing public health needs. More information about the Medical Reserve Corps is available on the Health Department's website.

19th Judicial Circuit Court

Kids Korner

Volunteers are needed to serve as caregivers in Kids’ Korner. Hours are flexible. All volunteers undergo an extensive training program before they are assigned to work a shift as a caregiver. If you are interested in volunteering, please call Kids’ Korner at 847.377.3825.

Volunteers in Probation (VIP)

The VIP (Volunteers in Probation) Program has been an important feature of the 19th Judicial Circuit for more than three decades. Volunteers assist the Adult and Juvenile Probation Departments by meeting one-on-one with low-risk clients to share such skills as child care, building trades, youth group mentoring and library science.
