Lake County Workforce Development funds qualified job seekers for a paid work experience or internship to help them build skills, develop references or transition into a new career field. Funding is made available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Applicants will be assessed for WIOA eligibility and all individuals need to have an employment goal of achieving full time employment.
HOW LONG WOULD AN INTERNSHIP LAST?
WIOA internships typically last 3 to 6 months, 20 to 40 hours per week.
HOW MUCH DOES THE INTERNSHIP Pay?
WIOA internships pay between $11 to $16 per hour. No benefits are included. An internship does not qualify an individual for unemployment insurance.
Where does an internship take place?
Workforce personnel have relationships with government, social service and corporate employers throughout Lake County.
