​The Controller's Office and the Accounts Payable Division are part of the Finance and Administrative Services department. These functions include preparing and managing the County's annual financial statements according to generally accepted accounting principles and state statute. As a safeguard of County assets, we work with departments to provide financial review and reporting, and support the general ledger financial accounting software to assure the accuracy of the data. Additionally, we assist departments in managing payments to vendors when obtaining goods and services for the County, as well as monitor and audit these payments for pricing, accuracy and compliance with County policies and procedures, and State and Federal laws.

Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
Interested in learning more about the financial health of the County? Take a look at this year's and past years Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports.

As required by Illinois State Statutes, Lake County has an independent audit completed annually and publishes the statements. This audit is prepared in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles and according to government auditing standards issued by the Comptroller General of the United States. Lake County presents these statements in a 
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report that also includes supplementary information, as required by the Government Accounting Standards Board.

that show payments for all goods and services.
