Ordinances and Codes
An ordinance is an act of the County Board creating a local law of a general and permanent nature in unincorporated Lake County. Examples include building, public nuisance (noise), smoke-free and public health ordinances.
All codes (except for building codes) are accessible through the Code of Ordinances Portal*. Building codes are accessible with Planning, Building and Development.
*Work in Progress
Lake County has worked with each department and elected
office to compile and codify all County Codes and Ordinances. This is
still a work in progress. Thank you for your patience.
