County Board Roles and Responsibilities

The Lake County Board has 21 elected members that represent a specific geographic district. The Board approves the budget and all financial matters, as well as ordinances, affecting all county government departments. The Board has standing committees that hold meetings during the two weeks prior to the monthly County Board meeting.

Meeting Information

Regular County Board: 9 a.m., second Tuesday of each month at 18 N. County St., 10th Floor, Waukegan, IL

Committee of the Whole: 8:30 a.m., first Friday of every month at the Central Permit Facility, 500 W. Winchester Rd., Libertyville, IL

Standing Committees: Two meetings each month at 18 N. County St., 10th Floor, Waukegan, IL

Public Comment

The general public can attend a County Board or standing committee meeting to provide comments.
