Lake County voters elect the 23 members who serve on the County Board. Board members represent the residents in their districts, and provide policy and budget oversight of the county government.
The Lake County Board meets regularly at 9 a.m., the second Tuesday of every month on the tenth floor of the County Buildling located at 18 N. County St., Waukegan, IL, 60085. Board meetings can be seen live on LCTV or on this website.
You can attend a County Board or a standing committee meeting and provide public comment. Read the rules related to public comment or the entire Board Rules of Order and Operational Procedures.
- Regular County Board – 9 a.m., second Tuesday of each month, Waukegan
- Committee of the Whole - 8:30 a.m., first Friday of every month, Department of Transportation, Libertyville

The Lake County Strategic Plan is used to guide the county over the next several years. The 2008 Strategic Plan identified the Board’s short-term priorities to address over the next two to three years. Those key areas include: transportation, criminal justice, drinking water and economic development.
